January 14, 2010
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
I and a new team of leaders took office at Local 100 on January 1, 2010.
We immediately launched an aggressive plan to rebuild our union into a unified fighting force against the MTA. But we need the entire membership locking arms together to get it done. We don't have that today, because many of you fell behind in your dues payment after the loss of checkoff in June 2007.
Some members told me they were withholding their dues as a political protest. Others simply stopped paying after losing the ease of payroll checkoff.
Whatever the reasons, its time make up the shortfalls, to put Local 100 back on
sound financial ground; begin the process of reconciliation and bring our union
back to full strength.
Please click on the "Payment Methods" link and do what needs to be done to get back into good standing.
I and my fellow officers pledge that we will restore Local 100 into the most responsive union in the country.
Sincerely and fraternally,
John Samuelsen
President, Local 100
